Bulletins

Download the Bulletin as a PDFThis weekend I am away on vacation with my mom.
A few years ago I decided to stop approaching vacation as an attempt to get far away from the office. Instead, it is more like an “off-season”, which with my fellow Redskins fans I have come to embrace as my favorite season. By “off-season” in the case of vacation I mean that instead of looking forward to days away from the parish, I look forward to days to get ready to go back to the parish. Here are some of the things we have coming up which make me happy to look forward:
Saturday 17 August
Bishop Paul Loverde will offer morning Mass as part of his monthly Respect Life Masses throughout the Diocese. That will be followed by a rosary at an abortion site.
Sunday 18 August
Fr. Michael Gaitley MIC will preach the 10:30 Mass and offer a mini-Retreat in the afternoon. All the proceeds of his book sales will go to the fund helping our young parishioner Ed Hambleton with his expensive medical bills.
Monday 26 August
First Day of School!
Saturday 7 September
The founders of “Lord Teach Me To Pray” will conduct a Training-Retreat for those who might be interested in becoming facilitators of the Ignatian Prayer Series in their parishes.
Friday, Saturday, Sunday 20, 21, 22 September
The 100th Anniversary of St. John in McLean being founded as a Mission of St. James in Falls Church. We will have the usual Fall Festival games, rides, food and beverage as well as a Friday shrimp boil and Zydeco band, BBQ on Saturday with live Blues and Jazz plus lots more.
Friday 25 October
Confirmation Mass
So I better get busy and vacate.
Oremus pro invicem.
(Let us pray for one another.)
God bless you.
