When a child is born the life of a family stops and starts all over again.
Once a year our world still stops to celebrate the birth of Baby Jesus. On this hill for a hundred years now shepherds have been witness to the song of the angels: Gloria in excelsis Deo!
Even though only those who are in the grace of grace can look forward eagerly to Our Lord’s second coming in Judgment, all of good will rejoice at Jesus’ first coming. He offers peace. He instills joy. He inspires hope.
The Savior’s entrance into human history happened definitively over 2000 thousand years ago. He continues to enter the world every time a soul gives Him a permanent home with repentance, faith, obedience and love.
Of all the households afflicted by alienation and estrangement, the Church suffers the absence of God’s children. This Christmas season let us pray that every heart will come to honor Mary as Mother and her Son as King and so unite every home in the warmth of forgiveness and peace and make every Church the gathering of all brothers and sisters in Christ.
On behalf of Fr. McAfee, Fr. Thompson and Fr. Cozzi, I wish you and your loved ones a blessed and joyful Christmas. If you are going to be away, may your travels be safe. We look forward to your return home.
May God bless us every one!
Fr. Christopher J. Pollard
