The past few weeks have seemed like nothing but sad news from sons and daughters of the Church. A Catholic senator in the United States Congress claiming that abortion is sacred ground. A Catholic secretary for Health and Human Services forcing Christian institutions to pay for employees' contraception, drug-induced abortions and sterilizations. A Catholic justice in the Supreme Court opining that it is demeaning to distinguish between traditional marriage and same-sex "marriage". A Catholic vice president cheering it all.

Next Sunday I invite you to hear some good news from some of your brothers and sisters in the Faith. A panel discussion entitled

Religious Liberty in the United States and the HHS Mandate: Updates and Strategies

will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 14 in the Parish Hall.

Kyle Duncan, Esq.
General Counsel
The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty
You might see Kyle in a TV interview on any given week depending on who is covering the Hobby Lobby story.

Donna F. Bethell, Esq.
Chairman, Board of Directors
Christendom College
You may have seen Donna last year on PBS, defending the Holy See and its visitation of religious in America.

Jayd Hendricks
Director, Office of Government Relations
United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
You may not yet know Jayd's face but plenty of Senators and Congressmen do from his years as a lobbyist for the Family Research Council.

Perhaps you own or help run a business. Perhaps your or your child's Catholic school or college is not actually owned by the local diocese. Perhaps you just want to know how exactly your government proposes to tax authentic Christianity. Please come, listen, learn and pray.

St. Thomas More, pray for us!

St. John Fisher, pray for us!

God bless you.
