Download the Bulletin as a PDFWhat a beautiful First Holy Communion Mass we enjoyed last week! The children were wonderful. The music was glorious. The servers were almost perfect as always. Everyone was caught up in the sacredness of the morning and that has lingered. Thank you and God bless every participant for making it a blessed occasion!
In a few weeks we will have more firsts to celebrate. Two new priests, among the seven to be ordained for the Diocese of Arlington, will give us cause for joy. Deacon Mauricio Pineda and Deacon Scott Sina will give us reason to thank the Lord for their vocations and reason to pray that their priestly lives remain humble, grateful, faithful and fruitful.
The Jewish philosopher Philo, who lived in Alexandria at the time of the Incarnation, said famously "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a great battle." When a one of us loses a battle we suffer that truth. Many of our young people are suffering a tragic loss of a dear friend. A young man of another parish who attended a local high school passed away this past Mother's Day.
Pray for him.
Pray for his mother and father and all his family.
Pray for his friends and classmates and neighbors.
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help, or sought your intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in your mercy, hear and answer me.
Amen.
Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us!
Our Lady of Good Deliverance, pray for us!
Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us!
God bless you.
