Download the Bulletin as a PDFMay 24 to 26 Pope Francis will be making a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, marking the 50th Anniversary of the meeting between Pope Paul VI and Patriarch Athenagoras in Jerusalem. We should pray for the success of this trip.
On May 26 when Americans observe Memorial Day this year, we pray for and commend to Almighty God those of our fellow Americans who died in battle. Let us remember that the day originated as a commemoration of the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in the Civil War.
We ought not forget that on May 29 the Universal Church observes Ascension Thursday even if the Dioceses in our Metropolitan See (Baltimore, Arlington, Richmond, Wilmington and Wheeling-Charleston) observe the Solemnity of the Ascension on the next Sunday. The Traditional Mass still admits of the possibility of offering the Ascension Thursday Mass on Ascension Thursday. Fr. McAfee will be offering a Low Mass at Noon.
May the Lord bless and protect the Pope.
May He grant eternal rest to the faithful departed.
May He always find us ready to join Him in heaven.
God bless you.
Fr. Christopher J. Pollard
