Mother Teresa – now St. Teresa of Calcutta – was a great friend of Pope St. John Paul II. There are many pictures of them in each other’s company and greeting one another.
Their respect and affection for each was real. Their affection for each was reverent.
There is something almost liturgical about the way the Holy Father is greeting Mother. More on that later.
St. Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us!
