MOTHER TERESA OF CALCUTTA
Missionary to the Poorest of the Poor
Born on 26 August 1910 in Skopje, Albania.
Received First Holy Communion & Confirmation in 1916.
Left home to become a missionary in 1928.
Inspired to found the Missionaries of Charity in 1946.
Received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979.
Died on 5 September 1997.
Beatified on 19 October 2003.
Canonized 4 September 2016.
The Vatican website from her beatification by Pope Saint John Paul II still has a treasure trove of information such as a biography of Mother and various statements by the Holy Father about his saintly friend.
