Pro Animis Sanctis in Purgatorio – Who Are We? Learn More, Sign Up!
Pro Animis Sanctis in Purgatorio means ”For the Holy Souls in Purgatory” in Latin. We are a
Purgatorial Prayer Society dedicated to prayer and sacrifice for the Holy Souls in Purgatory. Our
group prays for the Holy Souls on the First Monday of each month in the St. John the Beloved
Academy School Hall from 7:00-7:45 p.m. See the calendar on our website.
Why is Prayer and Sacrifice for Souls Important?
Souls are suffering in Purgatory right now and they urgently need your prayers as they cannot
pray for themselves. Holy Mother Church implores us to pray for the living and the dead as a
Spiritual Work of Mercy. Praying for souls in Purgatory is easy and the prayers can alleviate their
suffering, shorten, or even end their time in Purgatory. Let us pray each day for the faithful
departed. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May
they Rest in Peace. Amen.
Join our Group!
We sponsor events, we have an active book club, and we pray monthly for the Holy Souls. We
are happy to include you at your convenience, and there is no monthly obligation to attend
regularly. Please come as often as you can, and of course, pray and support the Holy Souls in
Purgatory!
